First DTM? This is my fourth DTM, but it is my first under Pathways.
When did you join and in which club? 2005, Downtown Toastmasters in Lubbock
When did you decide you wanted to be a DTM? As soon as Pathways became active in our district, I knew I wanted to work through the new program and earn a Distinguished Toastmaster award under Pathways.
What district position did you hold? Lieutenant Governor Marketing (2011-12)
What was your Distinguished Toastmaster project? In conjunction with the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation, I developed a marketing plan for their housing programs and led a team to disseminate information about their programs to people through online marketing, email blasts, workshops, and direct contact marketing.
What would you tell other Toastmasters members about becoming a DTM? You get more out of this program if you put more into it. If you dig deep, avoid shortcuts, and do more than you have to do, the return on your investment – even that bigger investment of time – will be much higher.
