The highest award presented by Toastmasters International is the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award. Hours, weeks, and even months can be required just to complete one of the steps in this daunting process. But for those Toastmasters with the drive to accomplish it, all the work is worth it to receive the bronze medallion, the admiration of their peers, and the skills gained.

I repeated it annually to look at changes and trends while attempting to add other Area members, District members, and Toastmasters from other Countries. I formalized it in April 2017 using the HPL process. The main result is one on one personal contact is the most effective recruitment tool we have.

HPL Project: I facilitated an area-wide Speech Craft session geared towards helping all of Area 53 clubs gain new members and/or gain experience from helping with the project. Through our efforts we were able to bolster the membership of the oldest active club in the state of Texas; club 211 Amarillo Toastmasters. With this project, I learned to think not just about the big picture, but also granular details and how they can make or break an event. A humbling experience that I would challenge others to take on because the growth is exponential.
