While I had plenty of opportunities to speak over my career of 35 years, I had not yet become a confident speaker until joining Toastmasters. I learned that preparation, writing, practicing, structure, getting to the point not only were essential elements of effective speaking, but they also made speaking much more fun and enjoyable. I now welcome opportunities to speak. Providing feedback to others is fundamental within Toastmasters, and equally required within the work place. Lobo Toastmasters provided the opportunity for leadership and interacting with creative students who were amazing speakers. I credit Toastmasters as the leading factor in continuing an exciting international career.
