Members of EnergyPlex Toastmasters mourn the loss of LaNetta Jarrett. She was a charter member and the Treasurer for 2015-16. Leadership came naturally to her and she spent a great deal of time and resources without expecting anything in return.
LaNetta recently received her (CC) Competent Communicator award and was excited about attending the District 23 Fall Conference in Ruidoso, New Mexico, on October 9 to 11, 2015. This was to be her first Toastmasters conference.
Outside of Toastmasters, she was the owner/operator of PMR Real Estate Management Services in Hobbs and held a position on the board at Legacy Pregnancy Resource Center in Hobbs.
LaNetta Jarrett will be remembered and honored on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church (301 E. Snyder Street) in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Thoughts from EnergyPlex members:
“LaNetta, you left so quickly; I didn’t even get a chance to thank you for the lunch your family provided for me prior to my departure from Hobbs. I have heard that heaven is better than this place; I have heard of the beauty, the innocence and grandeur of the King. You have flown on eagles wings to the best place that exists.
I pray that the Lord will bless and comfort those that you left behind in hopes that we will all meet again. Enjoy the bosom of the Lord and may the Lord remember your family always.”

“I am going to miss seeing my sweet friend LaNetta walking through the door with that beautiful smile on her face. She was a woman of strength and compassion. Jan raised a beautiful person inside and out and my heart is breaking for her and all of her family right now. I pray for a sweet peace to embrace each and every one of them. LaNetta was a very joyful person and I will always remember her that way. I will forever be grateful for having her in my life.”
–Tiffany Creed, CC, CL
“I met LaNetta when I was new to town and looking for an apartment. She was more concerned that my needs were met than she was in profiting from me. My thoughts now are that life can be unexpectedly short. Live life to the fullest, without procrastination. If you want to accomplish something, now is the time.”
-Dale Hobbs
“I’ll miss her kindness. LaNetta served as the EnergyPlex Toastmasters treasurer and has been with EnergyPlex from the beginning. She generously sponsored several members of Toastmasters.”
-Bobby Kimbro, DTM
“It’s hard to believe that she’s gone. LaNetta was one of the first people I met after coming to Hobbs. I first knew her as a property manager, then through Toastmasters. It was a privilege to know her.
-David Mink, CC
“LaNetta, you are a truly kind soul. You’re talented and accomplished, but always showed great humility. You’re strong in your beliefs, but sensitive and respectful of others, and quick with a smile. What I most admire is your love for family, apparent in every speech you gave. Thank you sharing a part of your life with us. If I could turn back time, I’d tell you these things in person.”
–Pamela Emmons-Beasley
“LaNetta was a kind and soft spoken woman who spoke with great conviction in what she believed. She was a woman who although I didn’t know her well, I felt that we had many things in common, and I was looking forward to sharing our common interests. As a business woman the City of Hobbs will miss her greatly, and will miss the leadership she displayed in her work.”

She was an advocate for Toastmasters, passionate for the community she served and love her friends and family with all her heart. Yes there is a new star in the heavens tonight, LaNetta will always be with us.”
