Florenceruth “Flossie” Brown, a long time Toastmaster from Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away on April 4, 2016.
Flossie joined Toastmasters in the 1950s as a member of the Albuquerque Toastmistress Club until the 1970s, when Toastmasters clubs were opened to both men and women. She was the heart & soul of the Capitol Toastmasters club in Santa Fe and gave her last speech at an awards banquet honoring her on March 12, 2016, for the Southwest Women’s Law Center.
As her daughter-in-law Karen Brown said, “A Toastmaster to the end.”
A memorial will be held on April 23rd. Other details are not available at this time.
