When did you join and in which club? June 2016, Taylor Ranch Toastmasters
Other clubs? ABQ Speaks Up, Cherry Hills Toastmasters, Midday Rio Rancho Toastmasters, Taylor Ranch Toastmasters and Tumbleweeds Toastmasters. Will soon add Champions Forge.
When did you decide you wanted to be a DTM? I decided in June 2019 to get my DTM when it became clear to me that the traditional program was discontinuing. I didn’t want to lose all that I had accomplished in the traditional program! Also, I had made enough connections within Toastmasters that I had the support I needed to accomplish this monumental task.
What district position did you hold? Area 14 Director
What would you tell other Toastmasters members about becoming a DTM? If you are going to do it within four years, you need to get used to speaking often. Make a spreadsheet and mark your progress so that you keep on track. Also, get a mentor!
