Albuquerque Business First honored 32 women for outstanding achievement in business and the community Friday night at its Women of Influence awards dinner.
More than 500 people attended the sold-out event at Sandia Casino in Albuquerque. Gov. Susana Martinez congratulated the honorees via a video message.
Honorees were named in eight categories: business services, education, entrepreneur, financial services, government, health/fitness, nonprofit and technology. A winner in each category was announced at the event.
Dohnia Dorman (AVP of Marketing, Rio Grande Credit Union and Part-Time adjunct Lecturer at UNM) received the recognition in the Financial Services category.
Albuquerque Business First received more than 400 nominations from the public for Women of Influence. Nominees were asked to fill out an application and submit a letter of reference for the judging process. A panel of leaders in business and the community evaluated the applicants on professional achievement, leadership and community involvement.
